The Dean's ministry in the wider community

With the Diocese spanning two counties (Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire), Luton and parts of Barnet there are many civic and community leaders to partner with. It will be important for the new Dean to take the time to build foster relationships with people and organisations across the counties.

Although St Albans is perceived to be an affluent area, there are areas of deprivation in the city, and the demographic is quite different in other parts of the diocese. We hope that the Dean will help us to develop opportunities for the Cathedral to contribute to wider society, for example in supporting work amongst the homeless and refugees.
